2006 Uncommitted Showcase
Mack Waugh is a 2006 right handed pitcher and infielder with a 6'1" 170 pound frame from Naples, Florida who attends Barron Collier High School. He has a tall lanky athletic body with plenty of room to fill out. Mack throws from a 3/4 arm slot and has a nice loose arm. He has smooth mechanics and gets good extension. He has very good movement on his fastball and throws a very heavy ball. His fastball is deceiving as it jumps at the hitter and looks much faster than what he throws. Waugh's fastball was in the 85-86 mph range consistently. He threw his curveball at 69 mph with tight 10-4 rotation on it. He threw a change up at 70 mph that he is still working on refining and getting a better feel of but it shows promise. He does throw all three pitches for strikes as well. Mack has a good upside on the mound and could help out the right program for the next few years.
