Shane Rose is a 2007 2B/C/P/SS with a 6'1'', 195 lb. frame from Coos Bay, OR, who attends Marshfield HS. Extra large frame with present strength and an athletic look. Defensively he has a quick arm from the outfield with good arm strength and accuracy. At the plate he is a right handed hitter who hits from an open stance and high hands. Rose has solid bat speed and keeps his weight back well. Rose takes his hands to the ball well, and gets good weight shift. Rose has projectable power and drives the ball to all fields. On the mound he throws from a low 3/4 arm slot with a quick arm. Rose throws across his body with a short arm circle on the back side. He made some adjustments in his second inning of work and went out of the stretch. His fastball topped out at 84 mph with late life in the zone, and he projects to throw harder in the future. Rose also mixed in a 72 mph curveball.
