Eric Kapinus is a 2007 LHP with a 5'10'', 175 lb. frame from Shorewood IL, who attends Minooka Community HS. Kapinus has a medium sized frame with a strong lower half. Kapinus pitches from a low 3/4 arm slot with a medium length arm action. He uses tall and fall style mechaincs and throws with some effort. His front shoulder opens up early occasionally, when it stays closed he has a more consistent release point. He throws with a low elbow from his arm slot and pushes the ball some. He gets good sink on his fastball with very good armside run. Kapinus throws a change-up with armside run and some sink. He maintains good arm speed on his change-up. His curveball breaks on a 10/4 plane with some depth. Kapinus is an oustanding student.
