2007 Hawaii Showcase Tournament
Tyson Goo is a 2007 OF/2B/C with a 5'8'', 175 lb. frame from Hilo HI, who attends Kamehamoha School Hawaii Campus. He has a stocky body and some present day strength. Goo is the type of hitter and player that may not look the part, but his skill set and approach can and will play at the college level. He is a gamer with ability. His aggressive approach at the plate stands out the most. Goo swings the bat with serious intent, the type of aggressiveness most kids do not show. He has very good bat speed, and good hands, while creating leverage at contact. He has the knack for swinging hard and putting the barrel to the ball consistently. He gets good plate coverage and hits with authority to all fields. He has some extra base pop too. Defensively Goo has a good arm and a very quick release, suggesting that he will rack up the outfield assists. He could play either corner outfield spot in college, though left field fits his overall tools best. Good baseball player, just has limited physical upside.
