Luke Pritchett is a 2008 RHP/1B with a 6'5'', 230 lb. frame from Atlantic Beach FL, who attends Oak Hall HS. He has an extra large frame and very good overall strength. He has a quick paced delivery on the mound with a short, compact arm action. His fastball topped out at 82 mph and was fairly straight. He threw a 67 mph curveball that had an early break and a change of pace effect on the hitter. It looks like there is more velocity in his arm with better pace and balance, especially since he threw 81 mph across the diamond from first base during drills. Offensively, Pritchett hits from a reverse toe tap trigger that takes his momentum away from the ball and doesn't allow him to use his strength. You can see the power potential when he makes solid contact but he'll need some adjustments before you can see his power regularly and against good stuff. Pritchett is also a very good student.

Luke Pritchett is a 6'4" 212 pound 2008 right handed pitcher and first baseman from Duncan V Fletcher High School in Atlantic Beach, Florida who was named to the Top Prospect Team. He has a big body with very good strength. Luke throws from a 3/4 arm slot and has a long arm action. He has a drop and drive delivery with good arm strength. His fastball has some life and run at 81 mph and his split finger fastball is a quality pitch at 70 mph. In the field, Pritchett threw 83 mph from first base during the workout. He is a smooth fielder who can pick the ball out of the dirt. As a hitter, he uses his body very well to hit. He is short to the ball and drives the ball to all fields. He has good power to his pull side and projects to hit for power to all fields. Luke is a strong good looking prospect who will open up some eyes as he improves.
