Taylor Reeves is a 2007 RHP/OF/1B from Great Bridge HS in Chesapeake, VA with a 6'6", 230 lb. frame. Taylor has a great tall athletic build and was the top prospect at the showcase. On the mound Taylor throws from a high 3/4 arm slot with a long arm action and good run on his fastball. Taylor sat in the upper 80's at the showcase, but could easily be around 90 in another year. He has a very good mound presence and a good idea of how to pitch. Hitters seemed very overmatched when facing Taylor. At the plate Taylor showed big power potential. He has a long grooved swing that lifts the ball easily to all fields. He could be a serious power threat in college. In the outfield Taylor moved well to the ball and showed off a big arm with carry. Taylor is a highest level two-way player and will attract the attention of colleges and pro scouts this coming spring.

Taylor Reeves is a 2007 right handed pitcher from Great Bridge HS, residing in Chesapeake, VA. He has a body that is both big and broad with a 6'6" 230 lb. frame. Reeves may not be the most projectable arm, but he is good and ranked #63 among PG National Top 85 pitchers. He pitches from an over the top slot with a longish arm stroke. His delivery and mechanics are pretty raw, perhaps because like a lot of young pitchers that are as big as he is, they just have grown so fast and not mastered their bodies yet. Reeves showed an upper 80s FB that bumped 90 so his arm strength is good. That arm strength is better than his arm speed. He does a nice job of getting his fastball on a downhill plane and got some good sinking action at times. Reeves showed a nice 75-76 mph change-up that he used as his primary offspeed offering. It looked as though his curveball is still a pitch in the development stages. His best pitch was his fastball down in the zone, which can be pretty heavy and tough to dig out. Reeves is a big bodied player but posted a respectable 7.34 time in the laser timed 60. College would seem the best place for him to develop his abilities, possibly in a draft-follow situation for one, maybe two seasons.
