Adam McConnell is a 2008 SS/3B/P with a 6', 185 lb frame from Yorktown, VA who attends TABB HS. Adam has an athletic build and showed big time two-way potential at the showcase. At the plate Adam has good leverage and strength in his swing and producing quality line-drive contact. He tends to keep his weight back too long and will roll over some balls. In the field Adam has clean actions with good footwork and hands. He has great range and knows how to read the ball well. Adam will needs to speed up his release some, but he has the tools to be a solid infielder. On the mound Adam has an arm that works well and he gets good armside run on his fastball. He shows a solid 11 to 5 curveball and a hard slider, but appears to have a higher upside as a position player. Adam is a solid student that should attract the attention of many mid to high-level college programs.
