2006 Atlantic Coast Top Prospect Showcase
Christopher Ott is a 2007 RHP/1B from Downington West HS in Glenmoore, PA with a 6'5", 175 lb. frame. He has a tall lanky build that has a lot of room to fill out. Christoper throws from a high 3/4 arm slot with an easy arm action and a good downhill plane. There is a lot of extra jerky movement in his delivery and with improved mechanics his command and velocity will improve. Christopher has a solid feel for his off-speed pitches and a decent feel for pitching. Once he fills out more Christopher should see his velocity jump quite a bit. At the plate Christopher showed the ability to hit the ball deep in the zone and flashed good bat speed. He opens up a little early at times, but showed good potential at the plate. Christopher is a kid that is just waiting to add strength and will see his power number improve dramatically. He looks like a low to mid-level college player at this point.
