Casey Rasmus is a 2008 C/P with a 5'10'', 170 lb. frame from Phenix City AL, who attends Russell County HS. He has a short, athletic frame with good strength througout. Rasmus is a quick twitch athlete with a live body. He ran the 60 in 7.00 and threw 1.90 in drills with 77 mph arm strength. Rasmus is a high energy catcher who is quick and flexible and gets in front of everything in the dirrt. He has soft hands receiving the ball. Rasmus is the kind of athlete who could play just about anywhere on the field with his quickness and arm strength but his catching actions and the energy he brings to the position work well. Offensively, Rasmus is a switch hitter who looks much more comfortable and practiced from the left side. Left handed he takes a full aggressive swing and shows hand quickness and some bat speed. Rasmus tends to pull of the ball and can improve his balance at contact but his balance problems are the product of effort and energy, not lack of ability. Right handed, Rasmus' swing was long with lots of upper body rotation and little hand use or lower body involvement. Rasmus also pitched some, throwing 81 mph from a low 3/4's cross fire delivery with a big sweeping 71 mph slider. Rasmus is also a good student
