Jean Barreto is a 2017 OF with a 5-10 152 lb. frame from Caguas, PR who attends Colegio Angel David. Medium, athletic frame with square shoulders and a lean, projectable build with room to fill throughout moving froward. Full of quick-twitch muscle, ran a 6.95 60-yard dash and have seen lower in the past. Primary outfielder, fields the ball out front, takes extra steps moving into release, full arm stroke through the back with a quick arm action and shows present arm strength and carry when synced up. Lefthanded hitter, begins with an open and upright stance with a medium hand set. Swings with intent and shows looseness to swing and hands through the zone, pull approach at present and has present bat speed. Barreled the ball well in live action, comes off well when squared, projects nicely as he continues to work additional fields. Good student.
