Aidan Donovan is a 2020 2B/RHP, OF with a 5-10 140 lb. frame from Santee, CA who attends Santana. Medium frame with a lean build. Projects for additional strength. Primary second baseman with smooth, athletic footwork while ranging to and rounding the baseball. Clean glove actions at pick up and worked through exchange well. Released from a three-quarters arm slot generating accurate carry to the bag at 79 mph. Left handed hitter with a slightly crouched, open stance. Created occasional linear shift into contact with lower half. Coils hands slightly at load and works to contact on a loose path. Utilized a line drive barrel plane through extension while working to the middle of the field. Flashed the ability to generate lift in swing when connecting with baseball out front. Also pitched utilizing a simple side step to medium leg lift delivery. Stays tall on back side with slight coil. Works to the plate with drop and drive actions. Compact arm circle at take back and released from a three-quarters slot. Fastball showed some downward tilt through the zone in the low to mid 70's, topped at 76 mph. Curveball had 11/5 to near 12/6 shape with good spin and later depth. Excellent student.
