Blair Kessler is a 2008 OF with a 5'11'', 170 lb. frame from Boerne, TX, who attends Boerne HS. Named to the Top Prospect Team at this event. Kessler has a lean and athletic frame with good projection. The speedy outfielder ran a 6.9-sixty, and uses his speed well on the bases and in the outfield. Defensively he moves well to the ball showing instincts and range. Kessler also has solid arm strength when he stays on top of the ball. At the plate he is a right handed hitter who hits from an open stance with a wide base and his hands close to his body. Kessler uses a no stride approach with a line drive swing plane. He has very good bat speed and is aggressive with pitches early in the count. During game action he hit two bullets to left field for a double and a triple. Even though he takes an aggressive swing, Kessler still has a good eye and only swings at balls in the zone. He is an athletic player with very good upside, and he is a very good student as well. A must follow.
