Ryan Gallardo is a 2010 C from Roswell, GA, with a 5'10'', 165 lb. frame. He was one of the youngest players at the showcase as an 8th grader. Gallardo has a very good frame for his age and could develop into a very strong young man. Gallardo's father, Victor, is the assistant baseball coach at Centennial HS and his fundamentals both offensively and defensively are excellent for a young player. You can tell that Gallardo has worked hard at the game and enjoys playing. Gallardo was comfortable behind the plate and received the ball easily. He showed 66 mph arm strength in drills with a best pop time of 2.36. His actions were all smooth and easy and his arm and times will improve with age. At the plate, Gallardo has a high hand set up and a knee turn trigger. He has very good rhythm to the ball and surprising bat speed for a 13 year old. He has a line drive swing plane and the ball jumped off his bat pretty well. Gallardo showed that he could turn on a ball with wood and get his hands behind the ball. He's a very promising looking young hitter. This young man's a ball player and he'll be fun watch develop over the years.
