Sam Goodman is a 2019 RHP/MIF with a 6-0 165 lb. frame from Dubuque, IA who attends Western Dubuque HS. Medium athletic build, plenty of room to get stronger. Tall delivery with a stiff front leg, works very quickly and has energy in his delivery, 3/4's arm slot, has deception in his delivery. Fastball topped out at 85 mph, mostly straight, has been up to 88 mph this spring, works fastball mid-plate to glove side with intent and throws lots of fastball strikes. Slider is his best pitch, has tight spin and hard biting action and plenty of sweeping depth, uses slider as his put away pitch, will tend to work too glove side with his slider and could be effective in to mid-plate against right handers. Good student, verbal commitment to Wichita State.
