Matthew Warrington is a 2019 RHP with a 6-0 170 lb. frame from Millsboro, DE who attends Sussex Technical High School. Medium, athletic frame with nice present strength proportioned well throughout frame. Ran a 5.51 40-yard dash. Primary righthanded pitcher, begins delivery with high leg lift and slight hip turn at top, loads weight on backside and looks to create angle to fastball while driving towards plate. Full hand path, full arm action and gets to a high three-quarters slot, able to generate plane to fastball, topped at 85 mph, mostly true in life, challenged hitters and showed ability to get to glove side well with occasional cut action. Consistently on top of curveball too, nice feel for pitch with downer 12-6 shape and depth at 72 mph. Display athleticism up the middle too, quick steps to work behind the ball ball, nice range going up the middle, quick arm, some effort at release but on top of throws and accurate across, 87 mph top throw, made a nice diving play in drills behind the second base bag. Righthanded hitter, begins with an open stance and pulls hand set back at start of swing. Strides well into contact, hands work nicely in swing and able to generate solid bat speed through the zone. Smooth swing path, line drive approach and shows comfort working to all fields. Named to Northeast Indoor-NJ Top Prospect List. Good student.
