Jorge Oscar Benitez Roman is a 2017 LHP with a 6-3 155 lb. frame from Toa Baja, PR who attends Puerto Rico BB Academy. Tall and very slender build, lots of room to add strength and fill out. High energy delivery, front side opens very early leaving his arm behind in back, 3/4's arm slot, has some arm looseness but no present leverage at release. Mid-80's fastball, topped out at 87 mph, mostly straight with occasional cutting action when he gets it glove side, mostly misses arm side. Hard curveball will flash tight spin when he gets out front with it. Much make delivery corrections to take the next step as a prospect. Good student.
