Ty Carlson is a 2021 1B/LHP with a 6-3 210 lb. frame from Muscatine, IA who attends Muscatine HS. Large stocky build. Ran a 8.48 sixty. Uses a low deep funnel when fielding. Flashed good footwork at first base with soft hands. Showed developing arm strength topping out at 73 miles per hour from first base. Left handed hitter. Utilizes a slightly open stance with a high hand and back elbow set up. Flashed some bat speed and strength during batting practice. Employs a power approach at the plate with right center field pop. Also pitched. Left handed pitcher using a small side step to a belt high leg lift. Displayed a long arm stroke with a low three-quarters slot. Flashed fastball with run topping out at 76 miles per hour complemented by a curveball with a two-eight shape at 68 miles per hour. Showed the ability to locate fastball on the outside corner. Excellent Student.
