2015 Spring Top Prospect Showcase
Jack Rasmussen is a 2015 RHP/1B/3B with a 6-2 200 lb. frame from Ankeny, IA who attends Ankeny HS. Big and strong build, looks larger than listed size. Side step delivery, full arm circle in back, 3/4's arm slot, some back side collapse in his delivery which causes him to pitch flat at times, hides the ball well from the hitter. Steady mid-80's fastball, gets good sink when down in the zone and has some heaviness. Slows on change up a bit but has good sink and feel for the pitch and it was effective. Slider better the harder he throws it, can be a solid pitch for him in the future. Around the zone and not afraid to mix it up, staying down in the zone is key with his delivery. RIght handed hitter, busy load and swing mechanics, swings hard and creates some bat speed, looks to drive the ball and has the strength to when he squares up, can simplify mechanics for more regular contact.
