Tothan Matthews is a 2016 C with a 5-10 183 lb. frame from Stevenson, AL who attends North Jackson HS. Large frame, strong athletic build with good present strength. Leg lift trigger at the plate, deep hand load, good strength at contact, showed power in game swings including a line drive that left the bat at 90 mph. Strong arm behind the plate, good carry, short arm action, popped a highly impressive 1.89 in the catcher workout and posted sub 2.0 pops in between inning throwdowns during games. Good student. Named to the Southeast Underclass Showcase Top Prospect Team.
