Alex Belch is a 2017 RHP/OF with a 6-1 165 lb. frame from Rochester, MN who attends John Marshall. Lean athletic build with room to fill out and add strength. Medium arm action to high 3/4 arm slot. Three pitch mix with fastball up to 85. Shows ability to pitch down hill with fastball. Curveball flashes depth with 12/6 rotation, that shows plus potential. Has solid feel for change up and uses it often. Showed good fade and sink down in zone. Struggled to stay on top of baseball at times but showed good feel for strike zone when on top of ball. Hit from the right side, square stance with a wide base. Stays inside ball with hands with a short quick swing. Makes solid contact with good barrel control. Mid field to pull approach and generates good bat speed when he uncoils. Defensively threw 90 from the OF with a quick arm, ball has carry when online. Has athletic actions to ball. Good Student.
