Gabriel Salgado is a 2018 C/OF with a 5-11 170 lb. frame from Miami, FL who attends Terra Environmental Research Institute. Medium build with a strong catcher's lower half. 7.12 runner, has good foot quickness behind the plate defensively, gains ground throwing, compact arm action and release, makes accurate throws. Right handed hitter, crouched closed stance, loose extended swing that hits through the ball well, has some bat speed with more to come with additional strength, used the whole field and showed some feel for the barrel. Should continue to improve as he gets stronger. Very good student.
