Matthew Milliner is a 2017 1B/RHP, OF, 3B with a 6-3 180 lb. frame from Austin, TX who attends Bowie High School. Extra-large, athletic frame with long limbs and a projectable frame with present strength and additional room to still fill out. Ran a 7.40 60-yard dash. Primary first baseman, shows athletic actions coming off the bag, fields the ball out front with hands that play well, full arm action deep through the back, ball comes out clean and shows carry out of the hand. Shows similar arm action from the outfield with quickness, balanced actions through the ball, gets behind the ball well and shows a sound transfer with nice arm strength. Also pitched, starts on first base side of rubber, spine tilt at top of delivery with a high leg kick up past belt. Short stride and lands on line, finishes over front side and works to a three-quarters release point with a full arm action in the back. Topped out at 81 mph with subtle running life, flashed a slider at 71 mph. Lefthanded hitter, begins with a high hand set and back elbow in the box, wide stance with a long stride moving into contact. High leg lift trigger at start of swing, shifts weight well through lower half, long swing path coming through the zone and looks to hit the ball out front. Line drive swing plane and creates extension to it, has moving parts to swing, creates contact to the middle and pull side parts of the field. Very good student.
