Michael Lopez is a 2017 C/SS, RHP with a 6-2 148 lb. frame from Oceanside, CA who attends Mission Vista. Lopez has a medium sized frame with a thin lean build. Defensively he has a low set up behind the plate and has loose athletic actions on his pop throws. He has arm strength up to 72 MPH on his pop throws with some carry. Lopez showed good catching tools and receiving skills. He also showed smoothness and athleticism on the infield during workout drills. At the plate, Lopez starts with a slightly open stance and uses a hand load to start his swing. He drops his hands and swings the bat hard. Lopez handles the barrel well and has developing strength in his swing. He pitches from a low 3/4 arm slot with a long arm action. He gets some run on his fastball and has some arm speed. Very good student.
