CJ Lopez is a 2016 SS/RHP, 2B with a 5-11 160 lb. frame from East Stroudsburg, PA who attends Stroudsburg. Medium, athletic build, high waist and projects well with room to fill out with additional strength. Ran a 7.61 60-yard dash. Primary shortstop, shows nice actions up the middle and moves well on feet, quick arm with sound transfer on throws, generates quality strength and carry, longer release, fields out front and remains balanced charging in. Also pitched, throws from a three-quarter arm slot and creates good angle at release. Topped at 84 mph with fastball, shows slight tailing life with effort at release. Curveball shows 11-5 shape when on top at 67 mph with two-plane break. Right-handed hitter, starts with a high hand set and leg lift trigger at start of swing. Uses hands well to create quick swing, shows a nice feel for the barrel with a long and fluid path. Patient approach, stays balanced through swing with nice contact skills and shows some carry off the barrel to pull side. Named to Sunshine Northeast Top Prospect List.
