Jacob Prater is a 2016 OF/IF with a 5-11 180 lb. frame from Adkins, TX who attends La Vernia HS. Has a medium frame with an athletic build, sign of strength in body. Posted a 6.99 60 yard dash, moves well on the field. From the outfield, sits back on the baseball with clean transfers. Long arm action on throws with good arm strength and carry. At the plate, right-handed hitter that starts with a slightly open stance and a leg lift trigger. Takes aggressive swings at the plate while keeping his hands inside the baseball. Showed raw bat speed with good opposite field power and present strength off the barrel. Outstanding student.
