Cameron Cavanaugh is a 2017 1B/OF, 2B with a 6-1 180 lb. frame from Freehold, NJ who attends The Hun High School. Large, athletic frame with broad shoulders and present strength throughout frame. Ran a 5.41 40-yard dash. Primary first baseman, takes short steps coming off the bag, short and compact arm action on accurate throws across diamond, upright release, arm strength will continue to develop. Righthanded hitter, begins with a wide base and square stance in the box. Loads weight back and pulls hand back at start but shows quickness to them at start of swing, line drive swing plane and generates present bat speed with good extension out front at contact. Uses a middle of the field approach and shows jump of the barrel, projects for more with continued incorporation of lower half. Very good student.
