Javier Camacho Jr. is a 2016 2B/RHP with a 5-11 160 lb. frame from Corpus Christi, TX who attends Ray. Medium, athletic build with a projectable frame and room to fill out. Ran a 7.00 60-yard dash. Primary middle infielder, hands work well on ground balls, quick transfer, accurate arm across with nice strength and carry. Also pitched, throws from a three-quarter arm slot with a short, loose arm action in the back. Throws easy and ball comes out clean, topped at 82 mph with fastball, showing some sinking life. Curveball is a good pitch at 70 mph with 11-5 shape and tight spin, changeup shows sinking action as well at 75 mph. Left-handed hitter, starts with an upright stance, shows a simple approach at the plate. Stays balanced and under control through swing, hands work, gets barrel to ball well, hits to all fields, line drive contact to pull side, more power to come with incorporation of lower half. Excellent student.
