Jack Kirksey is a 2018 2B/SS with a 5-10 140 lb. frame from Beaumont, TX who attends Monsignor Kelly HS. Medium, athletic frame with a young, projectable build, lean with square shoulders and room to fill throughout moving forward. Ran a 7.24 60-yard dash. Primary middle infielder, fields the ball out front, glove plays well out front at the ball and shows a quick transfer to get it out, short arm action, moves well and shows range with long strides going up the middle, accurate throws across with arm strength that will continue to develop. Righthanded hitter, begins with a high back elbow at start of swing, sound mechanics and does a nice job of repeating them swing-to-swing. Employs a contact approach at the plate and executes it well, gets the barrel through the zone and shows a nice feel for it at point of contact. Short swing to the ball, turns the barrel and creates steady contact to the middle and pull side parts of the field. Will continue to develop with added physicality. Very good student.
