Sebastian Gutierrez is a 2022 RHP/3B with a 5-11 145 lb. frame from Westchester, IL who attends Nazareth Academy. Medium, athletic frame with present strength proportioned throughout frame. Ran a 7.42 60-yard dash. Primary right-handed pitcher, side step moving into a medium leg lift at start of delivery, compact arm circle through the back to a three-quarters release point with plenty of arm quickness and extension out front. Challenges within the zone well early in count with fastball, topped out at 87 mph and generates nice downhill plane to it with flashes of arm side run. Mixed an 11-5 shaped curveball with solid spin and late depth up to 69 mph, kept hitters off balance and also showed a straight changeup at 72 mph with maintained arm speed. Three pitches for strikes. Arm strength plays well across the infield as well with a top throw of 88 mph, smoothness to release and moves well on feet, athleticism translates to the dirt. Right-handed hitter, begins with a spread stance and utilizes a leg lift trigger for timing, shifts well moving into contact. Swings with intent and gets the barrel through the zone well, looks to lift and impact at the point of contact, occasionally gets uphill with path but mostly repeats swing well and shows tools in the box. Excellent student. Named to Great Lakes Top Prospect List.
