2017 Spring Top Prospect Showcase
Trever Brown is a 2018 RHP/3B, SS with a 6-2 190 lb. frame from Gilbertville, IA who attends Don Bosco. Large frame with long limbs and present strength. Primary right handed pitcher with a side step delivery to high leg lift. Stays balanced at gather and utilizes lower half well while working to the plate with drop and drive lower half actions. Tends to vary landing point on front side, but carries momentum to target well. Long arm circle back at separation and released from a loose three-quarters arm slot. Fastball jumps out of hand cleanly with some running action to arm side in the mid 80's, topped at 87 miles per hour. Curveball had 11/5 shape with tight rotation and solid depth. Showed best bite and depth when working in higher velocity band. Maintained arm speed with a changeup offering that flashed some sink and fade in the upper 70's. Filled the zone and challenged hitters. Showed ability to work to each edge of the plate when repeating mechanics and staying in tempo. Very good student. Named to the 2017 Spring Top Prospect Showcase-Top Prospect List.
