Stephen Farrell is a 2016 RHP/3B with a 6-3 190 lb. frame from Miller Place, NY who attends Miller Place. Extra-large, athletic build with broad shoulders and room to fill out with added strength. Primary right-handed pitcher, throws from a three-quarter arm slot with a full arm circle in back. Leg raise delivery with a small hip turn at top, steady tempo, hides ball well in back, stays tall at release. Fastball topped out at 84 mph, worked in the low 80s and showed some downhill plane with occasional arm side run. Curveball shows tight spin with 11-5 shape at 75 mph, has confidence in pitch. Three pitch mix with feel for changeup, comes out of hand like a fastball at 78 mph. Showed arm strength on throws in infield, shows athletic actions, comes out of hand clean and very accurate. Right-handed batter, spread lower half with high hand set. Generates pull side contact, some length in swing, comes off barrel well, shows ability to hit to all fields. Good student.
