Luke Dawson is a 2017 LHP/ with a 6-2 160 lb. frame from Naples, FL who attends Gulf Coast. Long, lean athletic frame with plenty of room to project additonal strength at physical maturity. Small side step into windup with leg lift above the belt. Has good rhytjm and pace in delivery. Works to a 3/4's arm slot, has some wrap and slight presentation on the backside. Fastball up to 76 mph, more comfortable in locating pitches to the armside. Offering has some solid armside run and natural sinking action at the knees. Curveball is long-breaking with loose 1/7 shape, shows ability to locate the pitch for strikes. Can tip changeup a bit by dropping arm slot, but throws with solid armspeed. Also worked out in the infield, at first base, gets into good fielding position and has solid footwork. Very good student.
