Matthew Slaver is a 2016 RHP with a 6-0 160 lb. frame from Orlando, FL who attends Ocoee HS. Large, athletic frame with long limbs and a lean, projectable build with room to fill out. Ran a 7.63 60-yard dash. Primary right-handed pitcher, throws from a high three-quarter arm slot with a full arm action coming through the back side. Stays tall on backside with a deceptive delivery, gets on top of the ball and generates downhill plane on fastball, topping 82 mph, mostly straight with good extension out front and riding life through the zone. Curveball shows 11-5 shape with late break and depth, good command of both pitches. Stays low in the infield with sound actions, fields out front, moves well charging in and circles the ball well. Right-handed hitter, starts with a wide base and a medium and set. Lowers hands at start, line drive contact with occasional lift, shows sone strength to pull side when squared with bat speed coming through the zone. Outstanding student.
