Bryce Frantz is a 2017 LHP with a 5-10 175 lb. frame from Iowa City, IA who attends City HS. Medium compact build, has some present strength. Drifting delivery with a big pause at the top to let his arm catch up, creates his deception, high 3/4's arm slot, gets downhill well, timing with the pause can be inconsistent and leave his arm late coming through, works mostly arm side and will miss up when he misses. Primary fastball pitcher, topped out at 82 mph, gets nice cutting action when he's able to get the ball glove side. Throws an occasional short soft slider that he could throw more often. Threw strikes with his fastball after settling in but developing off-speed pitches will be key for his future improvement. Also plays outfield.
