Joey Davis is a 2019 3B/RHP with a 5-10 145 lb. frame from Middletown, DE who attends Appoquinimink HS. Has a lean build, athletic frame, and room to continue to put on additional muscle. Posted a 7.76 sixty yard dash. From the outfield, comes through the baseball well with quickness and looseness to actions. Fields the ball out front making transfers into a compact arm action, has solid and carry and strength on throws. From the infield, as quick feet and carry across the diamond on throws, athletic and looks the part of an infielder. At the plate, right-handed hitter that starts with an upright, narrow stance and leg lift trigger. Showed good hand quickness to the baseball while staying short, has feel for the barrel and gets it going to the baseball. Uses a middle of the field approach and stays balanced throughout the swing, projects for more power as he gets stronger. On the mound, throws from a three-quarters arm slot with a short arm circle through the back. Stays online in his delivery with solid leg drive. Fastball has solid arm side run, curveball has good break and is thrown for strikes, is always around the zone with all of his pitches. Good student. Named to 2016 Mid Atlantic Underclass Top Prospect List.
