H: Xavier Cruz is a 2020 OF/RHP with a 6-1 175 lb. frame from Franklin Square, NY who attends Kellenberg Memorial. Large, athletic frame with square shoulders and a lean, projectable build with room to fill throughout. Ran a 7.10 60-yard dash. Primary outfielder, high energy moving towards the ball, fields it out front and works to a full arm action through the back, higher release point on throws, gets on top and shows accuracy to intended bag, glove plays well at the ball, arm strength will continue to develop on throws. Righthanded hitter, begins with a wide base and a high hand set and back elbow at the plate. Hands start pulled back at start, subtle weight shift through lower half into contact. Full swing path through the zone, contact oriented approach and shows leverage out front at point of contact, comfort working to the middle and pull side parts of the field, projects with additional lower half incorporated into swing. Good student.
