Lopez is a 5-8, 155 lb right handed hitting infielder from Florida. He ran the 60 in 7.42 on the slow track and threw 72 mph during infield workouts. Lopez has smooth actions in the infield but will have to continue working on his foot quickness and range as the game speeds up at the upper levels. He showed nice accuracy on his throws. Lopez struggled some in batting practice, showing a slow, rotational sweeping swing but was a different hitter in games. He lined 3 nice hits, including 2 doubles, and had a much better, more confident approach against live pitching during the flow of the game. Lopez used his hands better and showed his true hitting ability. He can hit! He can play!.
