Andy Martinez is a 2016 C/ with a 6-2 200 lb. frame from Temescal Valley, CA who attends Corona. Martinez has a big frame with a strong build. Defensively he has good arm strength up to 79 MPH with carry on his throws. Martinez has a high set up on his pop throws and showed quick transfers and release. He has good catch and throw tools with upside. Martinez showed good receiving skills in game and is a hustling high energy guy. At the plate, he starts with a square stance with his hands tight to his body. Martinez has a short swing with a contact approach. He has some bat speed and some pop. There's more hitting tools in there with a more aggressive approach with more extension. Interesting player with good defensive tools. Very good student.
