Zachary Escovedo is a 2020 SS/RHP with a 5-9 170 lb. frame from The Woodlands, TX who attends The Woodlands HS. Medium athletic build with some present strength. Right handed hitter, hits from a tall stance with a well controlled shift into contact, high hands and elbow to start, has some downward path to his swing due to his starting position, has some bat speed with line drive middle of the field contact, can get the ball to jump a bit. 7.41 runner, third base tools on defense, has some arm strength and soft hands, can improve footwork and balance for better accuracy. Also pitched, uses multiple arm slots from low to high 3/4's, has a loose arm. Fastball topped out at 81 mph, showed good feel for spinning the ball from the different slots and threw consistent strikes. Good student.
