Donovan Smith is a 2017 RHP/1B with a 6-4 235 lb. frame from Alta Loma, CA who attends Los Osos. XL frame with excellent present build and strength, physically mature body overall. Pitcher only, employs a slower-paced delivery, high 3/4 slot, good mechanics up to balance point, gets downhill with some deception as well. Fastball worked in the mid-upper 70's, topping at 77 MPH with some life to arm side. Throws strikes consistently with all offerings. Showed good spin on 11/5-shaped curveball, can get sweepy at times but still shows potential for a swing and miss pitch. Changeup comes out of hand clean with good deception, has some sinking life on pitch as well. Consistently pounded the zone and maintained velocity.
