Noah Castillo is a 2021 RHP/1B with a 6-2 220 lb. frame from Whittier, CA who attends California High School. Large, broad shouldered frame with present physical strength proportioned well throughout his build. Ran an 8.69 60-yard dash. Primary righthanded pitcher, side step moving into a leg lift above waist, incorporates lower half well and strides online towards the plate; short and quick arm action through the back working to a high three-quarters release point. Generates plane to fastball and shows ability to work to both halves while attacking the zone, topped out at 84 mph and shows some sinking life to it. Curveball shows 11-5 shape with biting action and mixed it well; slider shows more 10-4 shape with sweeping finish and tight rotation. Fields the ball out front and hands play at the ball at first base, longer arm action through the back, ball comes out well, overall footwork will continue to develop, accuracy on throws. Righthanded hitter, begins with a wide base and a high hand set and back elbow in the box; upper body dominant swing and can continue to implement additional lower half into swing. Long swing path through the zone and remains linear with plane, contact oriented approach, shows some carry when elevated at point of contact, creates some extension out front. Very good student.
