Oscar Ramirez is a 2018 SS/2B with a 5-9 170 lb. frame from Chula Vista, CA who attends Hilltop HS. Compact frame with a strong, athletic build. Right handed hitter with a straight, balanced stance and high back elbow set. Quiet, simple load with a slight wrap. Lower half launches with linear actions and shift into contact. Shows a loose, line drive swing plane through extension. Primarily uses a mid-field approach but shows the barrel skills to turn the barrel to pull side at times. Consitently barrel up contact with solid balance throughout swing. Worked out defensively from the infield shwoing clean glove actions while funneling the baseball outfront with quick glove to hand exchanges. Good range to both side with a very quick release to back hand side. Athletic tools throughout with smooth actions while working through slow roller. Tools will continue to develop with physical maturity and repetition. Good student as well.
