James Rios is a 2015 C/2B, OF, 3B with a 5-3 156 lb. frame from Baiting Hollow, NY who attends Riverhead Senior. Athletic frame with present strength to his build. Primary catcher, low set up behind the plate, receives well, quick transfer, gains ground with lower half, arm strength will continue to develop, getting on top of throws will help improve carry. Right-handed batter, starts with a wide base with a high hand set and a high back elbow. Stays balanced through swing, compact swing, keeps hands in, gets the barrel to the ball well, consistent line drive contact to pull and middle parts of the field, repeats swing. Outstanding student.
