Iyan Pelfree is a 2019 OF/RHP/3B with a 6-2 195 lb. frame from Whiteland, IN who attends Whiteland Community HS. Large frame with present strength. Projects for additional size and strength with continued physical maturity. Ran a 7.28 sixty-yard dash. Primary outfielder, closes to the baseball well with fundamental footwork. Rounds baseball well and generated on line momentum while working to each side. Clean glove actions and showed a long arm circle while separating. Ball comes out of hand clean from a three-quarters slot, topped at 87 miles per hour producing good carry. Right handed hitter with a spread, even stance. Linear lower half actions to contact that produced good shift. Looks to lift the baseball to the middle of the field with an uphill plane through extension. Has some jump off the barrel with carry to the gaps when on time and squared. Flashed the barrel skills to work to all fields with the present bat speed to split the gaps. Also pitched showing a loose, long arm action. Utilized lower half while driving to the plate, tends to work weight to first base side at finish. Fastball has straight actions to the plate with some downhill angle through the zone, topped at 84 miles per hour. Curveball had tight 11/5 shape with good depth. Tends to slow arm speed at times with curveball offering. Consistently filled the zone with developing feel to each edge of the plate. Good student. Named to the 2017 National Indoor Showcase Top Prospect List.
