Eric Ruiz is a 2018 2B/UT with a 5-7 145 lb. frame from Cayey, PR who attends Pro Baseball High School Academy. Small build, compact frame with athleticism. Ran a 7.18 second 60 yard dash. Primary second baseman, moves well to the baseball fielding the ball out in front with clean hands and very fluid actions throughout, good footwork through gather and into throws, short arm action with plenty of carry to throws, topped out at 82 mph across the diamond. Lefthanded hitter, wide base with an extra high hand set, simple trigger into contact, compact swing with some quickness to hands, uppercut finish, contact oriented approach with pretty good barrel skills, lower half stays in sync well with the swing, line drive plane with line drive results to all fields. Great student.
