Ricardo A Ruiz Irizarry is a 2018 3B/C, 1B with a 6-0 183 lb. frame from Ponce, PR who attends Caribbean School. Medium frame with broad shoulder and beginnings of strength throughout. Ran a 7.64 sixty-yard dash. Primary third baseman with fluid, easy actions while ranging for and surrounding the baseball. Clean glove actions while funneling the baseball out front with fluid exchanges. Flashed good arm strength from a high three-quarters arm slot that produced accurate, on line carry to the bag. Also worked out from first base showing similar, athletic footwork while centering the baseball. Clean, smooth paced actions while funneling and working through transition. Showed similar arm actions, again producing accurate carry across the infield. Switch hitter, but hit elusively from the right side at this event. Utilized an upright, even stance with a simple leg lift trigger. Creates some hand coil at load while lower half worked to contact with linear actions. Loose, fluid path to contact with a naturally lifted plane through extension. Showed present bat speed and strength at contact producing hard contact to the middle of the field with solid carry. Good student as well.
