Joseph Flores-King is a 2017 RHP/MIF with a 5-10 170 lb. frame from San Antonio, TX who attends Johnson HS. Medium, athletic frame with broad shoulders and present strength on build. Primary right-handed pitcher, throws from a three-quarter slot with a compact arm action in the back. Starts with a rock step in delivery, does a nice job of getting on top of fastball to work down in the zone, especially to glove side. Some effort at release, topped at 77 mph with occasional run to arm side. Induces ground ball contact and has a feel for 11-5 curveball with depth. Short arm action in the outfield, fields out front, uses a crow hop to gain momentum on throws. Similar arm action in infield, fields well and shows some lateral agility, getting on top of ball will increase carry. Right-handed hitter, shows an inside approach at the plate and moves into contact well. Starts with a leg kick, feel to hit to the opposite field gap and has projectable strength. Good student.
