Chad O'Connor is a 2008 RHP/3B from Western Branch HS in Chesapeake, VA with a 6'0", 175 lb. frame. Chad has a lean athletic build and was one of the top players at the showcase. He is a very polished right-handed pitcher with good feel for three pitches. He throws from a full delivery with a long loose arm action. Chad uses his lower half well and repeats his delivery consistently. His command is already above-average and his feel for pitching is extremely advanced for his age. While Chad did not work out at any position he showed good ability all over the field. He ran a 7.17 and showed he could swing the bat as well. He has a smooth fundamental swing with good balance and solid bat speed. His batting practice was very solid and he could possibly be a two-way player in college. Chad has made a very early verbal committment to the University of Virginia and could see some draft attention when his senior year rolls around.

Chad O'Connor is a 6' 165 pound 2008 right handed pitcher and third baseman from Chesapeake, Virginia who attends Western Branch High School. He was one of the top pitchers at the event. Chad has polished mechanics and a very large upside. He has an excellent pitchers frame with a smooth arm action and good arm speed. His fastball topped out at 83 mph and his curveball at 68 mph. His velocity should continue to improve as he gets stronger. At the plate, O'Connor showed some raw power with good hand strength. He is an overall good looking young player who should keep improving. Chad is an excellent student as well with a 4.0 gpa.
