Peter Burd is a 2007 RHP/OF with a 6'3'', 215 lb. frame from Concord MA, who attends Hotchkiss School. He has an athletic build with long arms and legs. Burd maintains good balance in his delivery and stays on line to the plate, which enables him to throw consistent strikes and get hitters to swing the bat. Burd's fastball ranged from 71-75 mph with some running action. His curveball had a big sweeping break at 65 mph. We didn't see a change up. Burd's arm action isn't especially projectable and he tends to push the ball with a low elbow. Burd also played some outfield. He ran the 60 in 7.40 and threw 77 mph from the outfield with a similar arm action. He has some pull power at the plate and likes the ball on the inside half. Burd is an outstanding student.
