2019 Ohio Valley Prospect Showcase
Tyler Ostendorf is a 2020 OF/RHP with a 6-0 155 lb. frame from Winter Garden, FL who attends Windermere. Taller frame with longer limbs and a lean build. Frame projects to support additional strength. Primary outfielder with smooth paced, fluid footwork while closing to the and work through the baseball. Clean glove actions at pick up and worked through exchange well. Displayed good arm strength from a three-quarters slot topping at 88 mph. Right handed hitter with a crouched, even crouch and simple front side trigger. Stays balanced and worked to contact with rotational lower half actions. Compact hand path to baseball with a line drive barrel plane through extension. Displayed good feel for the barrel throughout the zone with present bat speed. Consistently generated sharp contact on a line to the middle of the field. Also pitched showing a small side step to high leg lift delivery. Stays slightly flexed at gather and worked to the plate with drop and drive actions. Loose arm circle at take back and released from a mid three-quarter slot. Fastball generated solid downhill plane through the zone with occasional sink in the upper 70's to mid 80's, topped at 84 mph. Curveball generated tight spin out of hand with late bite in the mid 60's. Good student. Named to the 2019 Ohio Valley Prospect Showcase, Top Prospect List.
